The BULGARIAN TRADE PROMOTION AGENCY (BTPA) as a legal entity under the auspices of the Minister of Economy is the operational unit for organization and coordination of export promotion activities between the Government institutions, non-governmental institutions and the private sector in Bulgaria. BTPA assists the Ministry of Economy in elaborating and applying of a strategy for the creation of strong export oriented national economy and provides to the Bulgarian producers and exporters a wide range of qualified services, market's, tender's and business contact's information.

BTPA's activity is made in the following directions:

"INFORMATION, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT"

· Effective business information system- data base, library, web site
· Information services in printing and electronic form for the national and world trade statistics, foreign trade regime, trade relations regulation, standardization, packaging, credit and fiscal policy, customs regime.
· Disseminating contact and tender information
· Market and product studies and analyses of the opportunities of the Bulgarian export potential.
· Specialized market services, concerning the organization, regulation and the procedures in the export activity.
· Consulting services for the Bulgarian exporters in determining the market strategy and foreign trade practice.
· Integrated sector programs for export promotion.
· Management of projects of foreign and international organizations; supplying a technical assistance for increasing the compatibility of the Bulgarian export and penetration on new markets.
· Analysis of specialized marketing knowledge demands and foreign trade qualification of Bulgarian exporters.
· Courses and seminars for specialized education on foreign trade practice.
· Projects for professional education and human resources development.
· Bilateral and multilateral frame cooperation agreements with trade promotion i.e. export organizations.

· Programs for international fairs and exhibitions on company, branch and national participation level.
· Participation of Bulgarian companies in trade missions and business delegations.
· Advertising and publishing activity in favor of Bulgarian exporters.
